Do I? Can I? Will I?

Do I sign up for this as my official FIRST half marathon?

Can I train for it through the cold winter months?

Will I even finish it if I try?

I'm so afraid.
Like want to crap my pants afraid.
Will my knees give me problems?
Is 13.1 miles just too many miles for these torn up knees?
April will be cold!!
I won't have much outside training under my belt.

But it kind of excites me to think about it.
I like the idea of signing up now and having that commitment hanging over my head.

What to do?
What to do?
Should I?

  1. Dooooooooo it. Honestly - so cliche - but once you get past 8 miles 13 seems SO doable.

    So do it.

  3. Hey there! i just found your blog! I am a fellow Utahn so we have running and the cold weather months in common. I say YES! Sign up. It will motivate you get out there and run in the cold! I am thinking about signing up for one in January just so I will have motivation to run during the holidays when I am my laziest!! Haha! I ran my first half this last June and it was such an awesome experience. You have plenty of time to train to make sure you knees will be okay!

    Do it!!! Love your blog!

  4. Do it! You can make it work. When you cross the finish line you'll forget all about the cold.

I'll check back for your decision.

  5. Do it! :)

In my opinion, training in winter is better than summer. Of course, come winter, I may change my mind. :)
